SUMMER BREAK SCHEDULE

Summer can be a great time to strengthen your childs skills in a more relaxed and non-intimidating manner. Students don't need to balance other subjects and assignments or worry about deadlines and tests.
30 mins to 1 hour a day of structured work (same time daily) helps children develop consistant work habits and builds routine. Children can strengthen their knowledge on a targeted area or gain a new appreciation for reading. Whatever you choose to work on ensure that you demand the best work and you will see your child develop.

Summer time activities can include:

-Reading a book and writing a book report.
-Researching an area of interest and producing a report or detailed presentation on it.
-Focusing on math drills.
-Writing a journal (fictional journals are a great way to inspire writing)
-Great a blog of your own about areas on interest or summer time activities.
-Create comics with dialogue and a full story

Check my blog often for new resources and activities. Here are a few great computer activities
*Mangahigh      *Bitstrips          *freerice         *Brainpop         *Nelson gr 5 Math
*Nelson gr 6 math         *Mathfrog

Remember learning does not always need to be strenuous or daunting. Make it fun, keep them engaged and make them proud of the work they are doing so they can produce the best work possible.
Have a great summer.
